    So, I upgraded my SGSII to 4.0.3 last night using Kies on a 'legacy' Vista laptop we have lying around. (I never could get Kies to play with the virtual machine install of Vista I've got...)

    Initial impressions are that battery usage seems to be about the same or possibly a little heavier. Also I thought I detected a tiny bit of 'stuttering' while I was setting up my home screens which the upgrade had nuked. Apart from that, I'm just as happy with ICS as I was with GB. Which is ...

  5. Books...

    So, I downloaded a couple of books from Project Gutenberg in html format. I wasn't getting on very well reading them in my browser so, after a bit of research, I installed Aldiko on my SGS2. Contrary to what I'd read, the app doesn't appear to support html. So, after a bit more research, I logged in to my openSUSE box at home using Connectbot and installed Calibre. Then, using AndFTP, I uploaded the files from my phone. Switching back to Connectbot, both files were converted to epub format ...
