I am trying to run tribes 2 from my terminal...I keep getting this message.

open /dev/dsp: Device or resource busy
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".

can anybody explain to me what this means? I have just recently downloaded the updated smp.rpm file for GLX Mandrake 8 nad did the install. I have also edited my XF86Config-4 to say "nvidia"; but there was no "load glx" in the module file. Can somebody pls solve this headache for me?

I have had this prob with some games, and my probs have come from a (still) misconfigured graphics card. If the game was proted by loki then you may want to look at their website. Also, the nvidia Linux froums may be able to help you with their card and configuring it.
