Unhappy eth1 card

Hi!

I'm having a problem: I boot my linux and I got this:
"Bringing up interface eth1 Delaying eth1 initialization. [FAILED]"

The contents of the conf.modules is:

alias eth0 3c59x
alias eth1 3c59x
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc

It was working fine until I booted.

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

A few preliminary thoughts:

1. Had you changed anything (hardware or software-wise) before reboooting?

2. Type "lsmod". Does the output list the 3c59x module (indicating that it is loaded)?

3. Type "ifconfig". Does at least some information for both NICs appear?

4. Are you using DHCP? If so, make sure the DHCP client is running, and reverify your host/route/gateway/etc. settings.
