This may not be a bad idea. Maybe a Linux - Software and a Linux - Hardware forum. What does everyone think?

Makes sense, we don't really have anywhere to ask if a piece of hardware is know to be supported, unless its a network card...

specific

To be more specific, what I had in mind was a forum where we could discuss problems we're havig with linux software, misc questions about linux software, questions about which software is good, and so on.

That sounds like a good idea. A forum for common Linux apps. (eg. Star Office, Netscape) and one for hardware. Many of the distro's web sites are of little use in finding compatable parts and user experience would be welcome before I buy stuff. Hardly any of my hardware was shown to be compatible with my distro but it all worked and I could pass this info on to others if needed.

I like the idea..... eliminate and pinpoint the wide range of different questions in all the other forums.

I thought that was what Jeremy said?

Excellent idea to have those two forums, just makes it easier to place the question. What would happen though if you had a problem installing a piece of software?
