Question

I'm dual booting b/w Win98 and a recently installed RH 6.2 (i think the kernel is 2.2.x). I'm connected to the university's LAN, but my connection under linux is really slow (i.e. 15 bytes/sec) When I boot into Win98, i don't have any connection problems and i get up to 150 KB/sec.

I've used linux and unix variants for awhile, but this is my fisrt time setting it up. I have a 3Com Fast EtherLinkXL NIC and i think i've got the appropriate driver 3c95x (it was chosen during installation). I get my IP address via DHCP.

I've tried using the GUI config tools that came with RH 6.2, but they haven't done much. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

driver update

You should check the 3com site for a driver update.
