Question

I just did a fresh Mandrake 8.0 install from 7.2 and I wanted to make Windows the default operating system (rest of family uses it).In 7.2 it was just a case of editing Lilo.conf to windows as default. In 8.0, changing the linuxconf app or editing the file in gedit doesn't seem to work for me. Also, can kernel 2.4.3 play DVDs? Any information would be appreciated.

you might want to run it from the command line, cause after you edit the file with vi or anything, you need to run lilo to make the changes, like this:

# /sbin/lilo

That should do it for ya.
