Is it possible to get back a password from shadow encryption?
If possible, how?

I don't get your question. If you question is: can you unencrypt a unix password?, the answer is no. It is a one way hash. If your question is: how do you verify password against the shadow password file. There are Linux library methods that will do this for you. You can call them in a C program. Take a look at the shadow man page.
