Network Monitoring

What is the best software for Network Monitoring and failures checking(NOT A SNIFFER) that can I use in Linux?

And If there is one of those softwares that can be accessed by a web browser to check the network status?

I think Big Brother will interest you.

try doing a search on freshmeat.net, they have quite a few options that you cancheck out.

I have to second the Big Brother recommendation - it's a great program.

The one thing that seems to catch everyone off guard is that Big Brother can cause excess logging in your ssh logs. The log entries will look like errors but they are merely caused by Big Brother checking the service. I don't know if this problem is still happening (been a while since I used it) but it is pretty much just something you have to deal with, some of the apps at freshmeat were doing the same thing.

It is still a great program, just don't go thinking that your ssh is broken, because it's not.
