I have cd'd to the directory containing my unzipped kernel v2.4.
When I type "make symlinks" I get the following
-
"make:***No rule to make target 'symlinks'. Stop.
Need an explanation of what is going on.

So you done your
Code:
tar xvfz linux-2.4.5.tar.gz
then cd'd to 'linux' yeah? And the
Code:
make symlinks
still fails? Do all the files appear to be where when you do an ls?
