i just finished upgrading to kernel-2.4.3, almost everything is working great! the only problem is when i boot up to the new kernel my login screen is huge, it looks like 640x480. kde still looks normal with the new kernel, and when I boot up to my old kernel everything is ok. I have tried a few things like editing the vga field in Lilo... well thats all i have tried. but I am open to suggestions!

i think that you need to have the framebuffer device enabled in the kernel. this allows you to have higher resolutions in the console (set in lilo.conf).
