I have just purchased Suse 7.1 and want to install it on my HP Pavillion 5170 Notebook.

Using the graphic install when I get to the part where it wants to boot into the system the computer freezes up.

Also it doesn't recognise that I have Windows Mellenium on my hard disk.

Would appreciate any help I can get.

You mean ,you have completed the installation and your system freezeswhile trying to boot up the system?
By the way, did you run any tools to partition your hard drive or did you format your hard drive before installing SUSE? Formatting & Partitioning can wipe out any existing data from your system when you do them incorrectly....
