Unhappy

When i change the resolution from 800x600 to 1024x768, in any GUI(GENOME, KDE....) i get flashing lines along the screen, is there a solution for that? b/c i'm really uncomfortable with the 800x600 res.

To change the resolution i tried either adding the 1024x768 to the Modes under the Screen Section in the Xconfigurator or Ctrl+Alt++, and both will change the resolution except for the the flashing lines.

My monitor is Philips 105S, it has 30-54Khz Horizontal Scan and 50-120 Vertical scan, and i entered all that information during setup.

Hi,
Don't know what monitor you are using or it specs. Might want to go over your modems manual and see if you have your vsync and hsync set correctly. Don't know what distro you are using, but sure there is a tool included so you can correct your settings after finding out what they are.

Are you using the GUI interface to cahnge the resolution or actually configuring thru the xf86config or Xconfigurator type setup of X?
