Xfce

Thought I'd put in a pitch for this system.

I've been playing with *nix for awhile now, used just about every distro possible and finally got my own LFS system working(that's Linux From Scratch for those that don't know, a whole different thread could be started on that one). I've used all the commercial Window managers and upon trying to build them from scratch the only one I could even get remotely close to working(if you count a system that cannot display images at all) was KDE. That's of course until I found the XFCE window management system.

If your looking for something VERY small and easy to use get this. It has the look of a solaris CDE desktop, can run all GNOME and KDE apps that I've put it through and has yet to crash on me. Just thought that anyone getting fed up with FAT window managers(come on, they don't need EVERYTHING in those) might want to give this a try.

God I sounded like a salesman.

Heh, I don't need help getting it running, it IS running. It just took me like 4 weeks to get it to a useable state(LOTS of learning about booting and various dependancies was done). I now know more about Linux than I probably ever wanted to, but thanks anyways.
