POP users shell

How can I enable the popuser's to login to their accounts using telnet an BASH shell?
Currently, when a popuser telnet to login, the system disconnects him after a while. How can I enable shell login?

It depends how you setup your popusers. Do the have "real" accounts with no shell or are they in a db that only the pop server looks at. Check /etc/passwd - are they in there? If so what is their shell.
