Unhappy

I have a PS104 Netgear Print Server with a built in 4 port HUB. I use it to share files within a Win98SE network of 3 computers then it is also used to print with a Brother HL1240 laser connected to it.

I would like to be able to use the print server from my linux box. I have 2 NIC's, on a Realtek 8029 running ne2k-pci (eth0 - connected to IDSL modem) and a 3Com card (3c509b - eth1). I have assigned the second NIC an ip of 192.168.0.1 but don't know what domain to set it under. Also I am not sure what the gateway or netmask should be. I need to find that info. to assign it to the print server. I can ping the second NIC but when I tried to setup the print server I couldn't ping it, it would time out all the time. I can manually set the ip and I would prefer to do that instead of running DHCP. Anybody have any ideas? I tried following the NHF in linuxnewbie.org but when I go to linuxconf the way they ask to set it up is not right. If I had to do it with DHCP, how would i go about it? Thanks.

To use DHCP you would need a DHCP server. What are the IP's of the print server, eth0 and the windows machine? The gateway is most likely the IP of eth0 (The IDSL modem is the "gateway" from your network to the internet). I am not exactly sure what you mean by "what domain to set it under".

Ok,

Print Server 192.168.0.3
eth0 64.6.176.39 (via ISP for DSL)
eth1 192.168.0.1

To set up the second card (eth1) it asks me for a username + domain, gateway, netmask (255.255.255.0). These are the things I am not sure how to setup on the PS and the second NIC. Like I said I can ping 192.168.0.1 but not 192.168.0.3? Does this make sense now? Thanks for replying.
