This is my first time using linux I need help I tryed to install my intel740(i740) but it tells me that I have to install the pac. xi740, but I cant figer out whare it is or how to install it.
Im also having troble figering out how to install my cd player can someone give me the steps on instalation.

It is asking you to install the X server for the i740 chipset. What distro are you running? If it is Red Hat (et al.) then you can just download the rpm. If it is debian (et al.) then you can download the .deb. Of course no matter what distro you run you can always download the .tar.gz. If you need furthur instructions let us know.
