I have a laptop running win98 and Debian (potato).
Thought i'd try the new kernel since it supports pcmcia, usb and a bunch of other things my laptop likes.
The new (2.4.0) kernel compiled fine, but if i have the pcmcia NIC inserted at boot (or insert it after booting), i get the error message
eth0: interrupt from stopped card
eth0: interrupt from stopped card
eth0: interrupt from stopped card
eth0: interrupt from stopped card
... continously scrolling down my screen. There is no way to stop this except hitting the reset switch. My NIC is using the generic pcnet32_cs driver and the pcmcia modules are the latest available on the Debian sites.
If i boot with the old kernel (2.2, and yes, i kept it to be safe...), everything works fine.
Any ideas? And yes - i am /almost/ a complete newbie.. but i'd like to learn ;-)
