Question

I'm running a RH6 acts as a mail server and DNS, it's running properly. Recently, I can't telnet or direct logins on this console. And I get a error message: /bin/login: /lib/libc.so.6: verison 'GLIBC_2.1.3' not found (required by /bin/login)

And the file /lib/libc/so.6 is linked to /lib/libc-2.11. I haven't do upgrading in this machine. Is the /bin/login file is corrupted? How can I fix this problem? Please give me some suggestion! I really need your help!

Thanks and Regards

Sounds to me it is trying to find the GLIBC_2.1.3 when you have 2.1.1, did you make any upgrades or changes to system. What about some log files and checking those out or anything? If no upgrading was done, sounds to me it could be corrupt.

go to http://www.rpmfind.net and search for the corrupted file there. it will come up with the rpm that you will need to install to get that file.
