I want to read the block directly from the disk. Can I use the function block_read() to access the data block directly?
If I use that function, how can I use that? Do I need to implement that function in a module in the order to access the disk?
And is that the block_read() function is defined in "fs.c"?

thank you.

You might want to check out a book called linux systems programming by Robert Love. I think it might be published by O'Reilly. It talks about kernel system calls that you might benefit from.
on top of explaining some functions it also has nifty list of books for reference and further details.

I hope this post is of some help to some-one. concidering this threads age.
