Mandrake will get you started, with ease of course well most of the time. It is the basic standard use for more desktop and usually so far the most simple for people new to Linux.
I have also heard of Redmond Linux, which I heard is very easy to use, but I am unsure since I have never used it.
RedHat is most standard and mostly used by businesses.
Slackware is good, more advanced but very solid.
And Debian is very good, most robust and advanced users really only, but hey, start out with the best or hardest, you will learn quickly.
But I recommend Mandrake, then you can move on when comfortable with Linux.
