Question

Hi.... basically I'm new to the world of Linux and I'm trying to teach myself the basics of Redhat 7.1.

I have downloaded several small programs that I wanted to try running, but every time I use the 'configure' command to compile a package it starts to run and then I get the message 'configure: error: your system is not able to compile a small KDE application! Check if you installed the KDE header files correctly'

I thought that I installed all packages that came with Redhat 7.1. If I need to install this particular package, where can I get it? Any suggestions/tips would greatly appreciated.

Thanks - Jeff

You are going to need kdelibs and kdelibs-devel. I 'm not sure which package series they are under in RedHat. You'll also probably find that you will need stuff for qt devel as well.
