my zip drive is working, but it is about 1/2 speed compared to when i use it in Win95. any way to optimise/accelerate it?

Iomega Zip 100 parallel port , bought sometime in 97 iirc.

The windows driver has some code that speeds up the drive. The Linux driver may not have some of this code. For a pport zip make sure your parallel port is set to EPP in the BIOS. This will make a pretty big difference sometimes.
