I seem to always run into this problem, let me see if I can explain it well enough.
The only part of my webserver that is ever accessable seems to be my main page,
http://www.<website>.com. I can't seem to find any permissions to fix so a user account can have a personal webpage. Each time I try to access a user account's page, I get the 404 error with netscape:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /~<user> on this server.
Apache/1.3.12 Server at <site>.com Port 80
The only thing I can think of that might cause the forbiddin error to come up is the fact that I do all of my httpd.conf and apache editing with root. But that still doesn't seem to correlate with user accounts being inaccessable.
I can never seem to find any information about this on the FAQ at apache.org, nor can I seem to figure out what to change in httpd.conf. Any suggestions? Thanks.
