Hi folks, I'm having a slight problem eith SMBFS. What I'm trying to do is run a script that backs up files from my wondows box to my linux(slackware) box. I've got SAMBA installed and everything is just fine there, but the Linux box that I've got is an inherited machine, and it doesn't have smbfs compilled into the kernel. I don't know much(anything) about compiling things into the kernel, but from what I've read I've got to do something with insmod and the smbfs.o file.
When I run insmod though it says: "insmod: smbfs: no module by that name found", I do have it though.
So I suppose my question is, how would I go about loading this module/compiling kernel, or whatever it is that I should be doing, because I'm really not to sure.
Any other info that is needed, let me know. Any help or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
phish
