I bought the Mandrake 8.0 and having some troubles.
I have two HD one with WIn98 and second one is new and empty. I want put linux on it. insert the first CD for the instalation, following the steps. When it came to the patition part, it offer me the HD with Win98 and do not want to touch that HD.
1) How can I acces my second HD and install the OS on it. Should I do something in the early stage that I did do?

2) At the stage of patitioning I try to get out by hiting the "cancel" button, I was not eable to get out of the instalation. CTL-Del Delete did not work. I was force to unpluge my computer. Is that normal?
(I apologize for my english. French is my native language.)

Thanks for your Help

On the assumption that you have connected the Hard Drives correctly, when MDK 8.0 starts up and offers you the partitioning stage (Disk Drake), you should see a tab allowing you to switch to hdb (second drive).

If the drive is clear, you should see a blank drive from which to install Linux on.

If this is your first experience with Linux, then let the software choose the partition sizes for you.

Others have their own personal preferences, but you'll find yours with time.

Have a read of this :

It may help
