mod_auth_dbm.so

help!
I'm trying to do user authentication using DBM..but when i uncommented #LoadModule dbm_auth_module in httpd.conf and then restarted httpd, out came the message "/etc/httpd/modules/mod_auth_dbm.so : cannot open shared object : NO suchn file or directory

why is this?does this mean i dont have mod_auth_dbm.so ?if this is the case, where can i download it?Thanks!

Oh, and another thing, can i use my /etc/shadow file insteah of .htpasswd file in htaccess authentication? If it's possible, how?
THANKS!

Mine is in /usr/lib/apache/

You should check out the slocate program, it is a very powerful search tool with a database so it brings up whatever you look for instantly.

I guess you have to (I don't know what I'm doing here)

insmod the module and depmod -a

but I really don't know much about what you are doing.
