Hi all,

I'm very new to Linux first of all, but I'm having a task which is like this...

We have a development box which is running Linux, it has several different applications, eg. Apache, SQL Server, etc....
Now I need to build another box (the hardware is not exactly the same, it's more powerful) which contain "EXACTLY" the same settings, same versions of applications. Simply input, it has to be a mirror.
How can I found out exactly what has installed on that machine? And what settings do I have to look at to make them identical.
I'm fairly new to this indeed, please advise, thanks a lot.

What distro are you running? If it is red hat you could do a rpm -qa. Other distos have similar commands.

Thanks Jeremy. Yes, I'm running red hat.
I tried your command and it worked, it returned me a huge list.
How can I utilize this list, or say, how can I use rpm to help me in dealing with setting up an identical server.
Also what should I look at in terms of the settings in order to accomplish this. Thanks.
