Can someone please explain what is wrong with my installation? I use Corel Linux SE and installed it. I can choose from my OS list which OS to run; all of which came from Corel Linux OS. "Corel Linux" runs nothing, it just sits. All the others start with the DOS-like screen but stop when I get the message, "hda2 not cleanly unmounted," or something to that effect.

First time I installed I partitioned it expecting to put another OS on later (new computer, new hard drive) but it froze so I shut it off without cancelling- oops! Next time I had to overwrite the disk without allowing me to repartition. I did this a few times with the same results. A few times VGA Mode booted up the OS but the reception was messed up. Please help me Obiw-Wan, you're my only hope.

did you create a boot disk, so you can boot with that, mount the hda2 and run a fsck on it to scan for errors and such. if you didn't create one, it sounds to me yeah, you screwed it up on that partition and it might need a reinstall.
i would recommend reinstalling corel, if that is what you want to use and do a good reformat of it as well.
