Question

I chose graphical login when I setup my RH 7.1 box. I want to go back to the old textual login. Anyone know how to do that (without using the virtual terminal)?

Umm... without using virtual terminal?

Maybe there's some gui tool in Red Hat for changing the login, but the easiest way is this: edit the /etc/inittab file. There's a line that looks something like:

id:5:initdefault:

change it to:

id:3:initdefault:

That should do it.
