1.create a new partition using the free space on the disk (use format command)
2.mount the new filesystem at /mnt. (use mont)
3.copy the system's man pages from /usr/man to this filesystem. (use cpio/find, tar or dump/restore piping the data between them)
4. Unmount the file system, remount the file system at another directory.

instructions

1. Use CFDISK or FDISK to create the new partition from the free space.
2. Use /sbin/mke2fs to format the partition for Linux.
3. edit /etc/fstab to create a new mount point for the new file system or mount it manually.
4. copy the data over to the new filesystem.


It seems like you might already know how to do this so maybe I am missing the point of your question?
