Has anyone else had problems running comcast @home on their linux machine. I have RH 7.0 and everything works( even the Nvidia card), except the cable modem.
I have a Realtek 8029(yuk!!) and the modem is connected via CAT 5 and not a USB.
I think the modem works as it has the correct driver and it all seems fine. However on boot up the Computer can not determine an IP address. I have it configured for DHCP- i am struggling to find a place where i can put my Client contact number which @home assigns you( this is needed for the service to recognise me!!). Does anyone have any ideas.
Any help much appreciated
Lance
this explains how the DNS name is employed in configuring for DHCP. I was able to connect to @Home w/ a RCA DOCSIS modem using the configuration he'd layed out.
