Hi, I've been compiling aterm, just to try it out.

Having installed the relevant:

- support for XPM graphics ( libXpm )
- and the X header files

I get the following when I type make

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lX11

I'm running Mandrake 7.2, kernel 2.2.17 at the moment.

What is that, a library? Is it a shortened version of the name of a library? I think it should be in some X rpm, but which one?

Yes, it is a library.
Yes, it is a short version of the name. The real name of the library should be libX11.a
I don't know which rpm it is in.

libX11.a is in the XFree86-devel RPM.
