I chnage the date on my linux server using "date MMDDhhmmYYYY.ss". I then type "date" and verify that it's correct. But when I reboot the server, it reverts back to the previous time (an hour behind). What's going on?

sounds like it's setting the systems time to the time stored in the bios.
