Hi everyone. I have an eepro card that works in windows and am trying to get to work in redhat 7.0.
I have it working in windows on my computer and am having problems setting it up in linux. I know the IRQ and I/O address that it uses from windows. But when I try to use this info in linux it says "invalid module paramater". When I use the "autodetect=1" command, My computer freezes when it trys to start that module during boot.
I have 7.1 but anyway I was getting a lot of errors on the card, Sorry did not save them.
My windoze98 client was not getting over 20k download from the internet.Still don't know why but it had a 3com ISA in it.
Well the ole lady didn't know the difference but I figured 25 bucks a piece, what the heck.
Well I have had nothing but good luck with the two Linksys LNE100TX ver 4 in this box, and also with the one in my winme box NIC to NIC. So I went down and bought two more and put them NIC to NIC for the win98. Now everybody is getting around 240 KBytes/sec.
If you want to try the eepro, I think it should install itself. Mine did.
If you have a little time to kill try booting up with it out, put it back in and see what kudzu does with it.
Which Intel card is it (model)? I've had good luck with all of the one's I've used except for the bilt-in rig on the i815 boards - but I haven't tried the 2.4.2 kernel in that one yet.
I did have a linksys LNE100TX but my driver wouldn't compile in redhat 7.0. thats why I am using the eepro.. I don't know what relese it is.. My friend gave it to me and I put it in and it works.. It did work in linux at one time..
