Angry Connection Timeout

I've a Redhat 6.2 mail server. Some times when email users try to connect to the server for sending/receiving thier emails, the connection times out although the network traffic is normal and the connectivity is OK.

Also, I can not telnet the this server sometimes although I can telnet another server in the same LAN segment!

Something to add. I think that this problem occured after I've applied fsck on my RH system.

Is there a way to recover that?
