What exactly did you do to create the swap on your windows partition? Did you run mkswap? Did you change the partition type to swap in fdisk or did you mount the partition as a swap partition?

Try to umont the filesystem:

/umount /dev/hdwhatever

And mount the partition as msdos

mount -t msdos /dev/hdwhatever /mnt

and see if your data is still there. If it will not allow you to mount as msdos then it may be the case that the partition is either labled as a swap or mkswap has been run on the partition.

Let us know.

Hi
If you're willing to pay, try www.grc.com he's got some data recovery stuff. May actually be free, but I dunno.
