I can't even get read of partitions since fdisk doesn't work it says "error reading hard disk". i don't care if i lose info, i want to get rid of all partitions andt start making them again, can anybody help?, i have a 40gb hd, with partitions of 32, 6 and 2gb lost in space.
thx
Ok!
I meant that you should try to use fdisk found on a linux boot diskette.
It should be one on your linux cd or at the distributions web site.
You could also try to use delpart found at microsoft website.
whenever i want to start "fresh" with a hd i make a dos startup disk, use fdisk /mbr. if you still get an error message about reading your hd, your hd probably kicked the bucket.
