I an writing an intranet application that involves the printing of badges for access to events, the previous method used was to load a page that contained the badge data then javascript was used to say window.print(); The new method uses a linux server with several printers attached running a web server. When the users print a badge a perl script is loaded that opens the appropriate printer port ( /dev/lp0, /dev/lp1 ) as though it were a file and dumps the text to print ......very fast! however to change the form length to the right size I need to send an escape sequence to the printer .... the decimal version is 27 67 0 2.5 ( this is the okidata sequence to change the form length to 2.5 inches ) How can I make this happen, I am running out of hair to pull out!!!!
