Tape drive installation problem

My OS is RedHat Linux 7.1 and my tape driver is Iomega Dittomax External 10GB Tape Backup Drive (using parallel port), which is supported according to HOWTO:

However, my computer cannot detect the tape drive.
I can neither find by "tar -cf /dev/ftape ..." nor detect it by "ftape-tool".

ftape seems to be loaded, it appeared in the lsmod report:

Module Size Used by
...
ftape 116528 0 (autoclean) (unused)
...

Who have the experience installing this tape drive? Should I do some configuration?

Looking at the link you provided I noticed that you need to include the bpck-fdc module also. I think this fools the ftape driver into think that the parallel device is a floppy. I hate to point you to yet another document, but take a look at this ftape quick install guide.
