I wrestled Slackware 7.1 onto a 486 dx2/66 desktop w/8megs of ram, courtesy of the 4mb-laptop How-to. Slackware installed fine, and I made a boot floppy during the end of the install. According to the install, lilo was installed to the MBR. I reboot the machine... and I only get as far as "LI" ...the machine hangs there.
but... I slip the above named floppy in and reboot..and LILO performs perfectly...booting from the hard disk.
I've read tons of documentation and followed their instructions to get LILO to work from the hard drive, but nothing works....my eyes are hurting. Can someone help?
thanks
Thanks for the help...
but it didn't work...
I tried a couple more things...then just
decided that LILO would not work for this machine.
I ended up using loadlin from a dos prompt and it
runs just peachy...
thanks again, though...
