Hi,
i am a newbei ,interested in making a proxy server with linux, i'm having RH 7.0 ,i have squid installed, i can See that it's working.
but i need to know how specify users and their access rights. perhaps there exists a programm that makes it possible to doit graphically.
Or can any body tell me about anyother proxy server that's slim and good enough, because i am interested in home based network .Squid seems to be a very huge program.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

You have to READ an edit your /etc/squid/squid.conf
There you can specify users and acces rights (and much more!).
And yes, squid is huge, but also very powerfull! Works fine for me on my home-net.
Alternatives are e.g. wwwoffle. Do a search at freshmeat.net and you will find some more.
