Wrote a short file and ran g++ /root/<filename>.cpp
Got something called a.out.
Now-How does this become an exe?
I'm used to the DJGPP compiler which I think is the easiest to use. But I would like to use g++.

a.out is the default output file name. You can specify a new file name with the -o option or you can just copy the a.out file to another name.

g++ -ofilename filename.cpp
