I have RedHat 6.2 whit my-self-made kernel 2.4.4 whith ReiserFS support. How I can create new or convert existing partition with ReiserFS

mkreiserfs - create a Linux Reiserfs file system

mkreiserfs [ -h hash-name ] device [ size-in-blocks ]

DESCRIPTION
mkreiserfs utility is used to create a Linux Reiserfs file
system on a device (usually a disk partition).

Non-optional argument
device is the special file corresponding to the device
(e.g /dev/hdXX for IDE disk partition or /dev/sdXX for SCSI disk partition).

OPTIONS
size-in-blocks is the number of blocks on the device. If omitted, it will be determined by mkreiserfs automatically.

-h hash-name
Specify the name hash to sort file names. In current version mkreiserfs accepts the next values :
'tea','r5'.
(example : mkreiserfs -h tea)

As I can understand, I have to Download ReiserFS Utils RPM, Install It, then create new partition, apply utils and then I can move my system to new partitions manualy?

*FWIW, ReiserFS _still_ isnt as reliable as the "regular" ext2fs.

Just been reading this post and I have a few questions:
What is ReiserFS? I understand that it's a filesystem, but why would you want to change from ext2fs? What are the potential advantages? How does it differ from ext2fs? Oh, BTW, I'm probably not going to change (at least if there's no reason for me to do so), just curious.

ReiserFS in logging file system. It works as a mainframe database: if application needs to change data, so ReiserFS first set "Begin changes" flag, write old data to log, then change data, perehaps test and only then set flag "Data changed". If on some of this steps something goes wrong (System crash or power down), then on next startup checker will repair data with it's log copy. You should lost only few last changes, but structure of your disk will saved!
