Hey everyone,
i need to partition my hard drive but i dont know how to do it and i dont know which program i should use. I want to install RedHat on my system so can anybody help me? If you know any homepages or any other kind of source let me know please.

hey,
thanks for replying my message. It helped a little but i have to learn how to partition my hard drive. Ummm, i keep playing with it but i think i am doing something wrong. Do you know any partitioning programs that is easy to use and reliable? Thanks again.

You can create a new partition when installing RH7. On one of the first page choose custom installation then use partition with disk druid. When partitioning it should look something like this:
windows hda WIN98 FAT (whatever size the partition is)
/boot hda1 16M
/ hda5 900M
<swap>hda6 125M
I would recommend those size partition as a minimum to get the usability you want from RH.

Remember that you probably have to reduce your windows dos partition to allow for RH partitions (only you can decide the size - it is due to the amount of stuff you have on windows). Another alternative is getting your hands on Partition Magic which can be obtained via various routes.

Naturally the best way of installing RH is to have a secondary hard drive (like I have).
