DBM help!

hi all!
I'm trying to use DBM for user authentication, and i'm following instuctions from apache week...but i dont understand the part where it said that i have to edit my Configuration file in the Apache src directory. It said that i have to remove the comment from the line which currently says

# Module dbm_auth_module mod_auth_dbm.o

what i need to know is : where is the configuration file? where is # Module dbm_auth_module mod_auth_dbm.o? is it in httpd.conf or somewhere else?

i know it's a stupid question,but please help...

In my experience the apache config files are in one of three places:

1. /www/conf
2. /usr/local/apache/conf/
3. /etc/apache/conf

Try looking in one of those, if it's not there you can also try a 'whereis httpd` as root to tell you where the httpd binary is, whever that is locates your apache bin/ directory, you should be able to figure out where the conf files are from there. You might also try /etc and look for httpd.conf
