I have installed RH 6 and have the apple talk modules installed. The macs can only connect through the apple chooser by tcp address, no chooser icon on the mac from the
Linux. No problem with mounting a shared drive and log-on to the Linux, just no chooser icon. What is not functioning correctly?

Also what files are needed to compile a kernel on a new install? Unless I choose install all, I am not able to do make commands, and I do not want to install everything.

TIA

Bill

solution

I have an NT on the same network with its version of appletalk, and apparently it dominates or does something netatalk does not like as the Linux box disables the chooser level service. It will also disable the service if I plug in the router/hub uplink after the service is up and running like it should. Any ideas?

TIA
Bill
