i do not know much about the net(not a net fool though).

can linux use any server to get online?(like prodigy or m$n)

can you suggest a good internet provider that supports dial-up networking?

i would really appreciate that,

Well, I don't know about prodigy or MSN, but I do know Mindspring, originally Netcom or merged (what I use to use) can connect easily to the web with Linux. they even have online technical notes to help you, but they don't help over the phone.
