I am setting up a server with debian 2.2. I intend to offer shells for remote users and provide such tools as IRC, email, lynx, and dev environments. The whole system is behind a freesco router/firewall and I only am allowing access via ssh. (possibly FTP once the hatches are battoned Everything works fine, but as I am rather new at admining a Linux server, I am wondering if someone has any insight or can point me towards the proper howtos. I want to have security as tight as possible before I allow remote logins, so I can make a snapshot for backup. I am sure that no matter how tight I think I am, someone will eventually find a stitch to pull loose
Anyway, anything anybody could direct me to would be appreciated.
