Hi,
I want to use internal modem motorola SM56 fax/voice modem.
How can i use it?

dear vivek
linux does'nt support internal modem.all the internal modems r called winmodems.ie they can work on the windows plateform.if u wants to perform dialup put external modem for it.

for further help search winmodem/linmodem in google search engine.

all internal modems != winmodems

I think the response should be requalified. Linux supports internal modems, and some 'winmodems' can work with a little help. I don't think those internal modem riser rigs can be done under linux, though.

dear vivek

ur internal modem motorola sm56 will not work in linux plateform. u can use any internal modem which is linmodem. Besides that u can use any external modem .
