    mobile hotspot problems

My wife has a Motorola Droid 2 phone. I tried to set it up as a 'mobile hotspot' but evidently when the phone was purchased the vendor, Verizon, must have partially set it up for her. I would like it to have no password and no encryption. Short of 'rooting' the phone or completely restoring the phone, is there a way to rest the 'mobile hotspot' settings?

To adjust the settings, ensure the 3G Mobile Hotspot is off, and then go to: Applications -> 3G Mobile Hotspot -> Hit menu -> Advanced -> Wifi AP mode. From there you can set items such as SSID, Security, Wireless Password, etc.
